What to Expect
- Consultation: Your provider will evaluate facial volume, proportions, skin quality, and areas of concern to determine where filler may provide the most natural improvement. Whether your goal is restoring age-related volume loss, softening folds, enhancing contours, or improving facial balance, we’ll create a treatment plan tailored to you.
- Treatment: A topical numbing cream may be applied before treatment, and many Juvéderm® fillers contain lidocaine for additional comfort. Filler is strategically placed to restore volume, soften folds, and enhance facial contours. Most appointments at our luxury med spa in San Antonio take 45-60 minutes. To make your experience as comfortable as possible, we also offer the Beauty Bar comfort device and Pro-Nox™ (“laughing gas”), an optional self-administered treatment that can help reduce anxiety and discomfort during your appointment.
- Recovery: Some swelling, tenderness, or bruising is normal and typically improves within a few days. Most clients return to normal activities immediately, but we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat, alcohol, and prolonged sun exposure for the first 24 hours.

Can filler be done gradually?

Will dermal filler feel different?
Immediately after treatment, it’s normal to notice some swelling, firmness, or tenderness in the treated area. Once fully settled, filler should feel like part of your face – soft, natural, and something most clients stop thinking about entirely within a week or two.
Can filler be used under the eyes?
Yes. Under-eye filler – sometimes called tear trough filler – can help address hollowing, dark shadows, and a tired appearance beneath the eyes. When should I schedule dermal filler before a wedding, vacation, or special event?
While results are visible immediately, we generally recommend scheduling filler at least 2-4 weeks before an important event. This allows time for any swelling or bruising to fully resolve and for the filler to settle into its final result.
